Description of service
My dryer stopped heating and needed to be repaired. The total cost to fix my dryer was $88.00. It cost $40.00 for the initial service charge, $28.00 for parts, and $20.00 for 1 hour of labor.
Review of Service
My dryer stopped drying a couple of months after the warranty expired. It was was working, but it stopped heating and the clothes couldn't dry. I called the store that I bought it from to have them send their repair technician to check the dryer. I discovered that they charged $79.00 just to come to my house and an additional $40.00 per hour for labor. I decided to check the phone book to see if I could find cheaper labor. After getting several estimates, I found a company that offered a warranty on their work and they charged about half the price. They were able to come the following day. He quickly found that their was a problem with one of the heating elements and replaced it. Compared to other companies, I felt that the price was reasonable. I haven't had any problems with the dryer since then.
Tips
Depending on the type of dryer you have, repair cost can be very expensive. If your warranty is expired, consider renewing it before costly problems occur.
