Description of service
I got both my ears pierced in a mall jewerly/accessory store. The cost included the piercing, a bottle of cleaning solution for when the piercing is complete, and titanium ball studs.
Review of Service
I have to say that I was a bit nervous about putting holes in my head and it seemed like the retail associate was nervous too. She kept talking about wanting to get it perfect and made me look in the mirror multiple times to be sure I was OK with the placement of the ink dots she was using to guide her piercing gun. The first ear went poorly. The gun jammed and the earring did not come out. She reloaded it and tried again and it worked fine, but this made me even more nervous and jumpy and her nervousness did not help. The 2nd ear went fine, but seemed to hurt more. When she was done, she had me look in the mirror and agree that all looked good. Then she explained how to keep them clean for 6 weeks and to not remove the studs until after those six weeks.
Tips
Know that it is going to hurt and that if you choose to have it done at the mall, you are probably going to be handled by a young inexperienced person that may make you more nervous. If you are uncomfortable with anything, just leave. In hindsight, I would have shopped around more and tried to find a place where a manager was on duty to handle the piercing or gone to an actual piercing/tatoo establishment.
