Description of service
For this price you can get a really good, stylish haircut and blow dry in a comfortable, classy salon in the upscale neighborhood of the Upper West side of Manhattan. It's easy to make an appointment. There are nice TVs to watch while you wait and friendly, no pressure stylists who all speak English. I tipped 10 percent.
Review of Service
I got great service for this price, which I have found is a great one for this area of town. I got an appointment exactly when I needed one. The salon itself is attractive and located near good shopping and restaurants. My stylist listened to what I wanted and made suggestions as well. She also gave me general tips on haircare. The price included blow-dry, which I think is a no-brainer but you really have to ask sometimes or you will be surprised and stuck with a huge bill.
Tips
I've tried all the options in Manhattan - from the low-end salons whose staff rotates in and out (you'll never get the same stylist twice, even if you try) and doesn't understand a word you say, to the high-end salons where they charge you for everything from the conditioner to the highlights you didn't ask for. But you can get a good cut and great service for this price - don't pay any more. Also, remember to bring cash for the tip - you can't put it on your credit card tab. I've found this to be the case in a lot of places.
