Description of service
I moved about 200 miles away from my home town. I was transfered through work and had very little time to plan the move. I hired a relocation service to handle all the ins and outs for me. They found me an apartment in the neighborhood I wanted, took care of shutting off the gas, electricity, cable, phone etc. in my old town and having it turned on in my new town. They priced and chose the cheapest movers for me. They handled the change of address and presented me with very detailed checklists to make sure I had everything squared away before I left. The $200 was their fee and did not cover the costs any of the utility companies and such charged me.
Review of Service
$200 might seem like a lot of money but it was so worth it! I had absolutely nothing to worry about except getting things tied up at my old job and making sure my apartment was cleaned properly once the movers took my things. The value of a hassle free move is almost priceless.
Tips
Make sure they are a reputable company and have a good track record. Ask them to give you a pamphlet or something else in writing stating what exactly they will cover. If they price different utilities and such you might want to see proof that they did in fact choose the cheapest option for you. It's possible they could be in bed with the companies and getting some kind of kick back.
