Description of service
I am currently going to college. The program I am in is a nine month course that also assists with job placement. The cost of the full course was $8500, and the remaining $2500 was split into two "living expense" disbursements. Because my loan was through federal financial aid, I also got an interest rate under 5 or 6%, as well as deferment of payments until I complete my course.
Review of Service
I am extremely happy at my school. It is very small, especially compared with the community college in town. I like that I only see one teacher for each module of the class, and that the teachers and students all know each other by first name. The classes are flexible, and are offered morning, afternoon, or evening. They provide a fast paced, but thorough education, as well as job placement assistance. I believe I paid less for my tuition than the amount of tuition at the two other schools nearby who offer the same program.
Tips
If you're going to take out a large loan to pay tuition, be sure that you are willing to make the commitment to finish, because even if you don't finish, you are still liable for repayment of your loan. Also, make sure you are doing something that you enjoy. Look around at different schools in your area if more than one offers your desired course. I go to a well-known private/technical college, and paid $8500 for the full course. At another well-known private/technical school, the course would have been $11000, and at the community college, the course was $14000. If you choose the smaller private/technical schools, though, I would suggest doing a little research on the place. If the school offers federal financial aid, they are most likely a legitimate school. Also check that the school is accredited, and it is possible you will go back to school to continue your education at a later time, you may also want to find out if the credits are transferrable to another school.
