Description of service
I have a no-contract wireless plan with a national service provider. It is a alternative wireless voice plan to the normal contract service, this service is pre-paid and costs the following: $50/mo or $70/mo. Monthly payments must be made prior to the expiration date or service will be suspended. The full amount of the plan must be paid, you can not use pre pay cards or any other type of pre pay cards offered by the company. There is roaming fees along with normal data fees that come directly out of your balance.
Review of Service
I started my plan last October due to a tight budget and the ability to cancel at anytime. When I went into the store to sign up for a plan they was trying to push for a "contract" plan, yes it is more economical if you know you will be able to make the payments every month, but not a wise move if you know there is going to be hard times to come. I went with the $70.00 Easy Pay plan, and purchased a handset for the one year contract price (about $75.00 cheaper then full retail.)
The salesman was not very descriptive of what I purchased, since he failed to mention that there in fact was roaming, and there are no data plans available for pre-pay voice plans. It has been 5 months now that I've had this plan, I am only keeping it because I like the phone and not the service, and I'm still in school. This will make a good choice for a student or somebody who wants the option to back out at anytime for free, but you pay for it in the long run.
Tips
I suggest that you read the plan terms and conditions and understand everything. Don't be afraid to ask questions if you do not understand something. And don't go out of your reach for expenses.
