Description of service
This Brazilian bikini wax was the standard "all bare" Brazilian wax, removing hair from the bikini, rear, and inner thighs, with the requisite moisturizer and powdering after.
It was $25 for the wax, and I tipped $5.
Review of Service
It might not be best to bargain hunt when you need a bikini wax. The salon was a little dingy, the technician a little brusque, and the wax itself was a lot painful. Other (more expensive) waxes I have had have certainly gone more smoothly, with less pain, less waxy residue after, and a more even, smooth finish.
This did leave an unsatisfactory amount of stubble, caused an undue amount of pain, and the wax was double-dipped, which is unsanitary. The technician was a machine, though, and worked fast, but it was clearly not skilled labor, and the results were not as great as they should have been, and would have been at another, better salon.
The aftercare was also lacking, as the moisturizer was oily and the powder not appropriately applied to ease the soreness.
This was perhaps what a 25$ wax is like, but I would rather spend more, stay longer, and receive a better service.
Tips
Again, it might not be best to bargain hunt here. In fact, a stranger pouring hot wax on your nether regions might be the exact kind of thing you want to splurge on. It's definitely possible that you're paying for quality, which in this case, saves you a lot of pain, suffering, stickiness, and shaving.
