We had 25 posters printed to help with my daughter's campaign when she was running for school secretary. They included 2 colors.
Review of Service
My daughter was running for school secretary and we wanted someway for her campaign to really stick out. We had 25 posters made. They were glossy and included 2 colors. A friend designed the posters which included a graphic they'd designed as well as the school mascot. We choose a local printing company. After we'd gotten our quote we e-mailed them the design for the poster. We did not get a proof. They were done within 4 days. They turned out as good as we expected. They definitely weren't the highest of quality but we didn't pay very much either. They did look better than anything else anyone at her school came up with by way of advertising.
Tips
In our experience, we didn't feel we needed a proof as the entire design was provided to them and we had examples of the quality of their work. If it's not a printing company you are familiar with and trust I would recommend definitely get a proof though. Be sure to have a contract and know their policies for dealing with unsatisfactory work.
