Description of service
The service fee was for the printing of a poster design, which was in full color, on 11 by 18 sheets of high gloss, vivid, heavyweight paper and included the costs of all materials, printing time, and other equipment setup. Important to note that this price DOES NOT include the cost of designing the poster - that was done prior to the printing by myself, and the printing was done from the exact design I developed.
Review of Service
The service I received at this printer was not as great as I would have anticipated. Maybe I caught the printer on a bad day or something, but the printer was not in a great mood when I came into his shop. Additionally, he had a problem with my image to be printed being in a certain file format, but was still able to pull up the file and print the job as per my request. The quality of the printing was good, as they were using higher end equipment, and the paper stock that was used provided the right touch of class for the event posters. Despite the less than courteous service, I would go back and use the printer again for the quality of the print.
Tips
When looking for a printer to print your projects, especially when dealing with posters, it's always nice to note that newer is better. Older equipment in the shops is not necessarily a bad thing, but the tendency is that newer equipment will print your posters in higher quality and more vividly than older equipment. Additionally, ensure the printer handling the job is able to deal with the file that you bring them for printing. Higher quality and better resolution images are better for poster printing, but do be forewarned that exotic file types may not be able to be handled. Lastly, ensure they print your posters on high quality paper. A good printing job can be spoiled if it is printed on poor quality paper.
