Description of service
The car, which was damaged by collision with a deer, needed the hood and hood closing mechanism straightened out in order to make the car drivable, and it needed the headlight assemblies replaced. We needed the repair done as quickly as possible, since this was our main mode of transport to work out of town. The shop straightened out the hood and replaced the hood opening and closing cable and mechanism, and replaced the headlight assemblies with new parts, and touched up the paint on the front edge of the hood.
Review of Service
The shop did just what we asked them to do. The car is functional. We did not want to spend the money to replace the hood, since that would have made the cost at least twice as much. The repair shop listened to what we wanted done, and did not try to pressure us into opting for the more expensive service. They presented the options and we chose what to have done. They ordered the new headlight and hood closure parts, which took a day or two to arrive, and then very promptly did the repairs. We had the car back in service in just a few days from the accident.
Tips
We asked the shop for a quote on repairing the car to like new as well as repairing it to a safely drivable condition, so we could decide which option was best for us at the time.
