Description of service
I had some unwanted back hair that I have always taken care of by having friends help shave it off. Over time, I became really embarrassed by having to ask people to help me with this, so I was always looking out for alternate routes of hair removal. I just did not want to spend copious amounts of money when shaving was so cheap. I heard an advertisement on the radio one day for laser hair removal that was only $50. I could not believe how cheap that was, it almost seemed unreal to me. I went over to office to inquire more about it. They looked over my back and told me that it was going to have to be done in different sections. They said you could not take it all off at once. I made an appointment for a week later and the process was actually relatively short and virtually painless. I was surprised because I thought it would be very time consuming to remove each individual hair. I left the office that day and made an appointment to get another section done a few weeks later. The only thing I really couldn't do after the hair removal process was go swimming. Since it wasn't summer yet that was not an issue, thank goodness.
Review of Service
Since the actually process was pain and trouble free I didn't mind going at all. The people there were really friendly and made me feel comfortable even though I had this embarrassing back hair. They didn't make me feel like I was some sort of deformed freak. What I did not like about the service was that they did not warn you ahead of time that it was going to take many, many sessions to get rid of all the hair, and that each individual session was $50. I was under the impression going in there that I was going to spend only $50 for the whole back. Boy was I wrong. Even after they did a few sessions, where I unwillingly put out over $200, there were some hairs that just didn't take to the laser removal. Those few annoying hairs were always going to be there, so I felt like the days of shaving would never be over. In the long run, I don't think doing laser removal was a great idea. It was really expensive, and since I had to go back so many times it became very time consuming. There were also awkward middle stages where some patches of hair were gone and some were not. I think I was better off shaving.
Tips
The one thing I learned from this experience is that you absolutely must research a product before you get it done. Make sure you talk to people that have had the service done before, and read up on it as much as you can. I ended up spending a lot more money that I wanted to, because I did not ask enough questions before I started the process. I should have known that if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is. Also, if you already have a solution to your unwanted hair problem (such as shaving) I think you should stick to that. Sometimes alternate solutions end up messing up what is already working just fine. Also, before you get something like this done, make sure to ask about what the side effects are, and what restrictions there will be after the process is over. If I had gotten it done in the summer time was not able to swim I would have been very upset. All in all, make sure that this is something you really want, and that the place you are going to will provide the best services for your money. Nothing is worse than feeling like you threw away hundreds of dollars.
