Description of service
This was a classified as a "theraputic" massage, which is the same as deep tissue at this location. The actual cost of the service was $115, but I added a $15 tip for the masseuse. The amount of time for the massage was actually 80 minutes, but I think that is fairly typical when booking a 90 minute massage. The location was in a day spa, so had the typical perks: lemon water, towels, soothing music, comfortable room with dim lighting and very soft covering on massage table.
Review of Service
I left feeling like jello, which was exactly what I was looking for. A nice little feature here was a drop of some kind of essential oil on the facerest covering to make that a little more pleasant. There was enough checking in to make sure I was ok, but not any chit chat or discussion that would detract from the overall experience.
Tips
A good masseuse will ask at the outset what your preferences are, but if they don't, make sure to indicate to them what you are looking for. I will sometimes be going for relaxation, or getting out a kink in a specific muscle, or preparing for a tennis game. Give them feedback while they are working to indicate if the pressure level is good, or if you'd prefer something lighter or deeper. It really is all about you, and they want you to be happy.
