the Price of Family Portrait Photography

I hired a photographer in Culver City, CA to take some photographs that I used for informative pamphlets for my business. I was there for two hours and paid $70.00. The photogrpaher asked for $50.00, but I was so pleased with the photos that I tipped him $20.00. He arranged for a professional hair stylist and makeup artist to "get me ready" but as I said before, I was very pleased.

I was scheduled to arrive at the photographer's studio at 10 o'clock in the morning. I spent twenty minutes with the hair stylist and the makeup artist and then the photographer went to work. The photographer had prepared two different backgrounds and we used three different suit combinations to give us several choices. He is a young man and just getting his business started, which is why I received such a good rate; but he is obviously very talented.

My advice is take a good, long look at the photographer's portfolio. Be sure you know what kind of pictures he or she takes. If you want to save a little cash find a photographer who is getting started. They will have better prices. Oh, and do not be afraid to have a makeup artist there before hand. It truly is worth it to look your very best.
