Description of service
We had 1000 handbills printed up for a play we were putting on as a benefit. They were full color on glossy paper.
Review of Service
We put on a play to benefit a local charity and wanted it to look really professional. One of the actors said she could get a good deal on the printing of handbills. We had an actor do the design work and the proof looked really great. We got the final product and were extremely happy with them. They definitely looked professional and impressive. However, the cost was almost double what our actor said she could get them for. Apparently the owner did do discounts for charities but not for fund raisers for charities. We had nothing in writing so we ended up having to spend our own money to have them printed. While they did look great they weren't worth what we ended up spending on them. We also had a minimum run and it was about an extra 200 playbills more than we needed.
Tips
Get everything in writing. Be clear on what you want, what you want to pay for it and make sure that the person doing the work understands completely what you expect to get for your money.
