Description of service

I had my car detailed at a local car wash. The cost of the detail was $150.00 and took about 4 hours.

Every year when winter finally leaves I get my car detailed. I want to make sure that I get as much salt off of it as possible, plus it's just nice to have the interior totally cleaned once a year.

Review of Service

In 2007 I tried a new company I hadn't used before. They were a bit more expensive than I was used to paying for but they claimed to have some new tools that would really get the car deep-cleaned. I was told that the detailing would take around 4 hours. I dropped my car off before work, had a co-worker take me in to work and then picked it up on the way home. This was definitely a plus, to be able to leave it there all day.

When I got the car back I was pleased enough, but it didn't really seem to be any better than my previous, cheaper, car detailing had been. I did not tip as I was told there were several people working on each car and the tip was built into the price, so that did bring the overall cost down a bit as I would have tipped well.

Tips

Sometimes paying extra is worth your money, sometimes it's not. If you find someone who claims to be superior, but more expensive, ask for specifics as to what makes their services better.
