Description of service
The price was for printing the printing of 500 business cards, all the same pattern, in one color on decent quality card stock.
Being a full-service print shop, they could do anything from photocopies to small runs of spiral- or glue=bound books. Prices vary depending on the job. Bigger quantities get bigger discounts, though.
Review of Service
I ran out of business cards and needed some temporary extras until the company put out its mass order for business cards in a new design. Rather than go through the hassle of getting the company to approve an , I just took the design of my current card in and had a few hundred printed. I certainly didn't end up needing as many as I got, but the next-lowest alternative was only 100 for $20 and I'm glad I didn't get those as I would have run out by the end of the year.
The quality was excellent. It was the printer we went with for our previous run of cards (the ones I ran out of) and mine turned out identical to the originals.
Tips
Print shop prices tend to be higher than buying the cards at one of those "design your own business card" places online. You can also get print samples and examine the papers that can be used for business cards. Another alternative is to buy some card stock from an office supply store and print out the cards on your home computer. That's useful for emergency cards, but most people (me for instance) lack the design skills to put the entire card together in an aesthetically pleasing way.
