Description of service
This care is for two children ages 1 1/2 and 4 years old. This is only for two days per week. Drop off can be as early as 6:30 am and pick up at 6pm. There is an extended are until 7pm but that is an extra $30 per week per child. The cost of the care includes whole milk and juice and both morning and afternoon snacks. You must provide your own diapers, wipes and lunches. The do offer additional programs such as the fun bus, kiddie soccer, computer classes and summer programs. These are at an additional cost however.
Review of Service
This is the second daycare facility that I have an experience with. The only reason we changed is because the prior school would not accept my children only two days per week. I do think I am paying way too much for the two days a week. The teachers and assistants here seem to be nice people but I am not totally happy with them. I do believe they are capable of taking care of my children however otherwise we would not have stayed. One of my biggest problems with this school is that they seem to have too many children and not enough teachers especially in the infant room. I have had to say something to the director several times about it. Each time I was assured that another teacher was on her way. Another problem I have is that the women are mostly older (50+) and some of them are in their sixties and do not seem able to keep up with the children. I have picked up the kids and had the teachers just sitting around having coffee and gossiping. They also put the television on in the toddler class (18 months+) and I do not approve of that.
Tips
When you look for a daycare you must feel absolutely comfortable with the caregivers. Look at the kids and see how they are behaving and whether or not they are happy. Look at the age and energy level of the teachers. I have found that the younger high school and college kids are the best especially with the younger ones. This is because they are generally more active. If you are enrolling in a pre-k or kindergaren, make sure the teacher has some experience in the field. Look around and check out how clean the school is and what safety measure they take (i.e. washing toys, gloves on during diaper changes). You should also find out their policy on tv in the classroom and taking kids outside. I believe kids should get some fresh air almost everyday even if it is just a walk around the school.
