Description of service
The price is for a round of dermabrasion at the local health spa under the supervision of a dermatologist. Other services are available including massages, manicures, pedicures, mud baths, and a variety of others designed for relaxation and pampering and beautifying. Costs vary based on the service, though bundles and group discounts are available.
Review of Service
It took place at a spa I've gone to several times and have always been happy with the service. Dermabrasion is like a very thorough face scrubbing that removes lots of layers of dead skin, and along with the skin comes some fine lines and blemishes. I've had it done several times before and the results have always been thorough and even. First they squeezed the goop on my face that does the abrading, then they work it in with a motorized rotary tool, taking care to go over every bit evenly. My face positively glowed afterward.
Tips
Dermabrasion is a bit painful, not like getting a tattoo is painful, but rather like scrubbing your face too hard with a loofah can be painful. Because that's essentially what it is. Except that the person performing the procedure ensures that the scrubbing is done evenly to the whole face.
Supervision by a dermatologist is very nice, but not strictly necessary. And you'll want to remove your makeup before going as the dermabrasion goop is just going to ruin it anyway.
