The 26 dollars included monthly internet access, internet email or email client. This was a monthly service fee and provided a very limited amount of technical support from the local providers.
Review of Service
Over all the service was one of the worst experiences that I have ever experienced, when dealing with an ISP.. They were able to provide me with an email address, an estimated install date (for dial-up?), and very limited amount of technical assistance. The service was alright after the initial headache and wait, but it still slows down on a regular basis - such as between the hours of 5 am and 8 am, 11 am and 1 pm and finally between 7 pm and 11 pm. Pretty much the hours which has the internet usage times maxed out. A national provider would maybe have been a better fit, but it would have taken a long distance call to connect for email. I had to sign for a year at the rate to get an account.
Tips
Make sure that you have talked about and thought about all available options in your area before committing to a particular provider, find out if supporting a local company is worth the headache of trying to get service from a much smaller company.
