the Price of a Car Wash

This place offers different "packages" for different prices. The one I always get for $12.95 includes an automated wash, hand dry and interior cleaning. For more money you can get an exterior wax, detailing, etc. I usually get the "middle of the road" option, but I think their packages go as high as $50.00

The place I go to is owned by a local family, and they pride themselves on service, so everything is always exceptional.

The wash is always well-done, and the interior cleaning is better than I usually do it myself. They even remove the large mat from the back of my SUV to vacuum under it, and they spray off the mat as well (providing I remove all the junk from back there first, of course!)

It is not a "detailing" type of cleaning by any means (i.e. they don't get way down in all of the small spaces or clean up stains) but it is an excellent general cleaning, particularly of the interior. They also do all the glass by hand.

The only suggestion I have is one that can apply to most any business, really. If there is a locally-owned, smaller car wash, they may give you better service than a large chain. That was my experience, at least. I once got a gift certificate to a larger car wash and the quality didn't even come close. I'm sure, though, any place where the management cares about service will garner the same result, whether local or national, large or small.

The other tip: clean all the stuff out of your car before you take it in! I had no idea they would do as thorough a job of cleaning the back of my SUV as they did until I showed up with it clutter-free one day.
