Description of service
Our dog got an infection and stopped eating. We had to take her to the vet, who determined that she had pyometra. This is a buildup of pus in the dog's uterus that occurs when a dog hasn't been spayed. The vet had to perform an emergency operation to remove the buildup and her uterus. The complete ordeal cost $1500 which included the operation, the materials, antibiotics so the infection wouldn't come back and the hospital stay afterwards. She stayed at the hospital for a couple of days under watch to make sure she was recovering fine.
Review of Service
I was very grateful for the service. The vet was able to perform surgery that same day even though it was the weekend, in the evening. We had several meetings with the vet afterwards to discuss her recovery. I thought the vet was very attentive and worked with care and was very kind. The price although it seems steep is a small price to pay for the life of our family pet. I found nothing wrong with the service. Everything went well and everyone at the hospital was very kind. They called often while she was recovering to let us know how she was doing which I was very thankful for.
Tips
Take your dog to your trusted vet. It is a serious operation and requires immediate treatment. You should not attempt to save money when it comes to gambling with a pet's life but you can always ask for an estimate before your dog undergoes surgery.
