Description of service
I am fairly new to San Diego so I didn't really have a vet yet in the city. So I noticed my cat was losing its hair by licking itself bald. I call vets around for 1st exams free and later at night I found one. LUCKILY the receptionist took me in so late and I get down there. I am on standby while patiently flow in and out of the office building. So I am called into the room and I am questioned by the vet about my cat (and they paid more attention to the bald spot on his neck..which I explained was 2-3 years ago to allegy to a flea medication and not relevant to why I came in).
So, it came down to my cat having allergies (maybe he is allergic to himself...just kidding) and so they jab him with two needles and then the vet offers me some shampoo, a box of flea medicine and some pills to take home.
I did notice that all my cat needed were the shots and not really the shampoo and a BOX of flea medication? I only needed one dose to split between the 2 cats which in fact the vet was getting on to me about. So I ended up paying for all this stuff regardless and was shocked at the bill. For all this stuff he was going to charge me $100 something...when I got my bill from the receptionist he actually charged me $140!!! $40 more then I expected and to someone on a budget that's alot!!
Review of Service
The quality of service I expected really wasn't that great. The vet and assistant jabbed needles in my cat (like he was a toy!)
I only appreciate the receptionist letting me in so soon with no appointment and a free exam!
Tips
Price around for a vet!! Makes a world of a difference! I wish I would have known more about this vet before going to him. But I think it was more in a state of emergency more so then anything and I get what I paid for!
