Description of service
This was a flat fee rate for a local attorney to help me deal with a traffic ticket. I was going significantly over the speed limit and could have lost my license. I saw an ad for this attorney's services with a flat fee of $300 to deal with traffic tickets. Since I could potentially lose my license which would keep me from getting around and to work, I hired him.
Review of Service
He met with me briefly to discuss the facts of the case, told me he'd take care of it, and that was it. $300 is pretty cheap for an attorney, but I'm sure that traffic tickets are pretty easy for them to handle. I didn't have to go to the court date, and the attorney filed whatever paperwork was necessary to get me out of having to go to the court date and let me keep my license. I still got a hefty fine, but it was well worth not losing my license or having to go to the court date and try to represent myself and get out of losing my license alone. I'm sure that the money was well worth the hassle and worry of it all. The time with the attorney was very short, but since it was such a simple matter I didn't feel like I was ripped off or anything. He and his assistant called me to keep me updated on what was going on.
Tips
Look for traffic ticket attorneys in the phone book. Many will have a flat fee to do this kind of work. Make sure that paying the traffic ticket yourself wouldn't be cheaper than hiring the flat rate attorney. Only people who were going way over or who might lose a license would probably benefit from this. Just a regular old $100 traffic ticket wouldn't be worth it.
