Description of service
I paid $40.00 a month for tap dance lessons for my daughter that began in September of 2006 and lasted until July of 2007. The dance class was held once a week, on Mondays, for a duration of one hour. (A total of four hours a month). The class mainly focused on tap lessions but we were required to provide a pair of ballet slippers as the kids were exposed to some simple ballet steps. The materials that were required for the class were tap shoes, ballet shoes, a dance bag and a leotard and tights. These materials were not included in the cost of the lessons and totaled aproximately $50.00. There was a dance recital at the end of the program and we were required to pay for the costume, which cost over $60.00
Review of Service
I felt the service was pretty good. I think it was a good experience for my daughter, but as it was only a beginner course, she only learned very basic dance moves that were utilized in her recital. I feel that the price was fair - it basically broke down to $10.00 per week. What I did not like was that I had no idea when I signed up that a dance recital costume for a beginning student would cost so much. I had a hard time spending $60.00 on a costume that would only be worn for one day for only a few hours.
Tips
Before signing up for a dance class, I would ask them up front about what other costs you might incur throughout the course. Other than that, I feel it was a great experience for my daughter and she really enjoyed it a lot.
