Description of service
Some friends and I were looking for something new and interesting to do. We cycled through a number of ideas - white water rafting and that sort of thing, but settled on this as one of the cheaper forms of entertainment we could come up with. We reserved a two hour block of time for four people. There was a $40 fee to reserve an instructor/certified belayer and a fee of $10 per person to use this "day pass". I had never done anything like this before, so I had none of the equipment required. Fortunately, there was equipment on hand for our use.
Review of Service
We were taught the basic things we needed to know to scale the wall, and then given about an hour and a half to climb. The instructor was incredibly encouraging. The staff was knowledgeable and I'm pretty sure I got the hang of it. And I could feel it in my muscles the next day... This is potentially a great workout. It is definitely something I would be interested in doing again.
Tips
In our case, we were limited by a lack of locations in the area that provide this type of service, but comparison shopping is definitely important. Also, ask about group packages and deals of that nature. The package we used is typically reserved for birthday parties, but this business had no problem giving us the discount to fill up the empty spaces in their schedule.
