The Cost of Homeowner's Insurance

I recently bought a house and we needed to purchase insurance for it. We ended up going with the cheapest because we have other types of policies with them and bundling them together made it cheaper. They were almost half of the other companies. We are covered for $260,000 (the cost of the house loan) and for up to $12000 in personal property. The agent simply plugged the numbers in based on what we purchased the house for and gave us discounts because of the other policies. It was really simple. We didn't even have to go into the office. To make it even easier it is taken right out of your payment for your mortgage along with your taxes so you don't have to pay out to different companies.

I am very satisfied with the policy. Thank god we haven't had to cash it in, but it is a very good price for what we would be covered for if something happened to the house. The customer service at state farm is great. It is also nice to have all of your policies together so you don't have to deal with tons of different companies. I would definitely go with this company in the future. As a first time home buyer I am very satisfied with the price and service.

Definitely shop around when looking for homeowners insurance because it is competitive. All companies are different. Hopefully there is a company that you already have policies with to save you money.
