Description of service
It's a kind of cosmetic surgery, the vacuum approach to removing body fat. Typically, a plastic surgeon makes a small incision and inserts a "vacuum" that is then pushed forward and backward in the cells in a layer of fat to suction them out. I was overweight and my problematic areas were my legs and stomach so i go for the liposuction procedure for $6400. This fee includes the surgeon's fee, hospital operating room fee, anesthesiologist's fee, and post-operative compression garment. The charges for this also includes any post-operative doctor appointments.
Review of Service
On the day of the surgery, I first went to my surgeon's office and he marked the areas to be liposuctioned. He circled the problem areas and marked where he would make the incisions. Then anesthesia is given and i couldn't recall anything after that. But after i gain consciousness all remember is that i was in lot of pain. Pain was controlled with percocet and ice packs applied to the legs. I was quite swollen for the first few weeks, but once the swelling went down I was very satisfied with the results.
Tips
Liposuction is not really meant to be a method of weight loss, but rather a method of removing excess fat only from problem areas in people of an otherwise healthy weight or little overweight. It should not be taken as an alternative to exercise and hard work. It will leave you in lot of pain and incision marks also don't go easily.
