the Price of Six Months of Car Insurance

I currently pay $717 every six months for car insurance. This is for two cars, a 1999 Pontiac Sunfire that gets driven approximately 20 miles everyday and a 1996 Mazda B2300 pickup truck that only gets driven occasionally.

My car insurance has been extremely great. The rate that I pay includes full liability for my cars and for uninsured motorists. It also includes full medical coverage up to $50,000 per accident and covers me and my wife for whenever we drive rental cars so I don't need to pay for additional coverage. It also includes a $30 per day allowance for up to 30 days if I should need to rent a car while my car is being repaired after an accident.

My car has been broken into twice since I have had my current insurance. After paying the $100 deductible, I simply took my car to an approved repair facility (I had plenty to choose from where I was living at the time), rented a car for the next week, and went and picked up my car when it was done. I have never had to dispute anything or fight for additional repairs to be done. They have always been done thoroughly and with no hassle.

If you find an insurance company and even more importantly an agent that you like and get to know, it is my advice to stick with them even if you move. I have had my same insurance agent for the last 10 years even though she is in San Diego and I currently live in Santa Cruz. But she knows me and all of my needs that my wife and I have now and we have a great relationship. So if you find a good agent, stick with them!
