Description of service
Recently paid for my grandson to take martial arts classes. This was a beginners course for 12 weeks. Sessions lasted 1 hour and he attended twice a week. The cost included the work outfit and some one on one time with the instructor. Each class had no more than 12 students between the ages of 6 and 11 years. The students were taught basic fundamentals of martial arts. Once completed they advanced to the next level but only after the 12 week course.
Review of Service
The classes were excellent. The instructor was well versed in the martial arts and very qualified to instruct the young group. They studio was airy and open. Lots of windows, no small areas where children could be harmed. Each session started with a type of meditation to relax the group. After that they did some exercise for stretching the muscles. The instructor would slowly walk them through. Both the meditation and stretching lasted about 15 minutes. Then they began the martial arts portion. Each student was run through a series of movements slowly at first and then increased as they got the hang of it. Before a student went to a new skill , they would need to master the previous skill and understand what it was.
Tips
Check with the Better Business Association for proper licensing. Make sure the place has insurance. Speak with others that have attended. Go to a session and watch the interaction between the students and instructor.
