Description of service
I paid $70 plus $10 tip for a 60 minute "C-Esta" style facial. This type of facial contains vitamin C for its lifting and refining properties. In actuality, the facial was probably closer to 50 minutes.
Review of Service
The technician first steamed my face and cleansed and exfoliated my skin using a special cleanser and a couple of special cleaning pads. She was very thorough and I felt as if every single dead skin cell on my face had been painstakingly removed by the specially textured pads. The technician then extracted impurities from major pore blockages both manually and with tools. She then ran a metal tool over the entire surface of my face, easing out impurities as she went along. She used another type of cleanser or toner. The facial came to a close with the application of the moisturizing vitamin C serum and a "lifting" massage.
Tips
Get a referral from a trusted friend or read plenty of reviews about the salon and esthetician before you trust him or her with your delicate facial skin. Determine why you want a facial. For example, are you looking for relaxation, or do you want treatment for specific skin issues like blemishes or signs of aging?
Call the salon ahead of time to learn what skin care products they use. If you are yearning for the finest products on the market and the salon uses products anyone can buy at the local beauty emporium you will know the salon is not a suitable fit for your needs. The converse is true too; there is no point paying top dollar for a world class anti-aging product if all you want is a simple, cleansing facial. Upon contacting the salon, explain your needs and whether you have any conditions like acne or rosacea. At your appointment, reiterate your skin concerns to your esthetician.
