Description of service
I got a 75 minute hot stone massage. It was in an office, not in a spa or anything, so there weren't hot tubs or steam rooms or any of those amenities.
In addition to the $80 price, I also tipped the massage therapist $10.
Review of Service
I love hot stone massages. They are so relaxing, and when combined with a good massage, there's nothing that gets the knots out of my back and shoulders like a hot stone massage. This massage therapist was very good and knew how to use the stones and her hands to get all the knots out and relax me perfectly.
The therapist made sure that the stones were never too hot, so there was no danger of burns or anything. She was very good with communicating both what she was going to do and asking me if I wanted more or less pressure, where I wanted attention, etc.
Tips
Make sure that you are comfortable with the idea of hot stone massage. If you have never had a massage before, you might want to start with a standard massage before moving to hot stones.
With something as personal as massage, it's a good idea to get recommendations if you can. In addition, feel free to ask the massage therapist plenty of questions. It is your body that is being worked on and the therapist wants you to be comfortable and to benefit from the massage. If you are ever uncomfortable, be sure to let the therapist know immediately.
Another good thing to remember is that you should think about tipping the therapist if you are happy with his or her work. Be sure and factor that into the cost of the massage.
