Description of service
Alterations for a full length A-line bridesmaid dress. Alterations took only a week but they had the option for same day service for a fee of course. The dress had to be taken in (thankfully!) about two inches at the waist, the spaghetti straps shortened, the bust area was taken in at the sides, and the floor length bow was shortened by two inches. No appointment was necessary.
Review of Service
I picked this alterations service for it's location to my office. I wasn't sure what to expect when I pulled into the parking lot of an aging office complex but the staff was very professional and nice. The woman at the counter asked me a few questions, wrote down my name, and pointed me down the hall to a dressing room. My seamstress (I guess they have several) would be in in a few minutes. The seamstress didn't speak fluent English but she was very pleasant and she seemed to understand what I wanted. She wrote down a quote for the alterations and gave it to the woman at the counter. $125 was less than I had expected for all of the alterations that needed to be done. I was glad that my dress would be done in a week but they do offer same day service if it's needed. I didn't bother to check the price because I wasn't in too much of a hurry and one week seemed acceptable to me. When I picked up the dress it fit perfectly. All in all, I was happy and I will use them again for any alterations I may need.
Tips
Ask your friends and coworkers for referrals. It's a shot in the dark with this type of business so referrals are a great way to find a reliable one.
Don't forget to bring your fancy bridesmaid heels and strapless bra! Your alterations won't be accurate if you're not wearing what you'll be wearing with the dress.
