Description of service
For cutting and altering of pants and jeans, this is the standard rate. However, if you want to keep the hem of the pant, it is usually about $12. The price is not broken down with taxes and gratuities. Aside from pants, they also alter suits, shirts, coats, jackets and skirts. It is usual for these places to co-exist with a dry-cleaning/laundry service.
Review of Service
The alteration/ mending store is close to my house and their service is courteous and prompt. I usually wait only 2 days to get my pants and I am sure they can get it ready for me earlier if I request it. The quality of the work is clean, and they even press my pants or skirt after. They are not open on Sundays, though, and that's what I don't like about this particular service. I think the service offered good value for my money and their rates are reasonable and competitive with other establishments.
Tips
Check out the other places in your area of work or home to get the best price. If you continually patronize a service, they would give you discounts when you give them items in bulk. I usually give my dry cleaning along with alterations so I get a better rate.
