Description of service
I paid 75.00 to have my hand tattooed with henna for a birthday celebration. The cost of the service included the tattoo, a booklet of instructions of how to care for it so it would last longer, and refreshments while the tattoo was done.
Review of Service
The service was really great. This was done at a salon that caters to the new-age type person. The salon was beautiful, very colorful, smelled great and was relaxing. Calm music played in the room where I reclines in a chair while the artist worked. She really was an artist, and did a beautiful job covering my hand with tiny flowers and swirling ribbons of henna. I was given a number of designs to choose from, and it took about an hour to have my hand painted with the henna. Meanwhile, I listened to relaxing music and sipped on herbal tea. They gave me a complementary herbal eye mask so I could close my eyes and just relax for an hour.
Tips
First and foremost- ask to see the artists work. These designs really do last a while, you want to be sure the artist knows what he/she is doing before they start. Ask if they do an allergy test before they start,if so, how long does that take? I had to be there 15 minutes early for my test patch. Ask how long the design will last and how to take care of it. Ask about the choice of designs- do they have several to choose from or does the artist make it up as she goes? Find out if you can bring a friend along to keep you company while the design is done.
