the Price of Botox ®

For my mom's 65th birthday, I paid for her first Botox injections (she asked me for this!). She had already had the consult back home in WV and got a referral to a doctor in Columbus that worked for the same heath care group so that I could help her pay for it and be there with her when she got the injections. She decided to go small and had them only do injections in her forehead to get rid of the major horizontal line that was there. She got a total of 16 injections. It was a bit hard to watch, as I hate needles and there was a tiny bit of blood with each injection. She said it did not hurt much and definitely no more than a flu shot---just 16 of them!

The doctor was very nice and friendly. He joked a lot when we told him that this was for my mom's 65th birthday and mom got a kick out of that. She does NOT look her age, so flattery will get you everywhere and this doctor knew that. You could tell he dealt with mature women a lot by his bedside manner. I would definitely recommend him to anyone for this procedure. He was efficient and you could really tell he knew exactly what he was doing. Afterward, mom looked refreshed. I think that is the best way to describe the difference. She loved the outcome but said that she did not like the way it made her face feel.

Definitely know what to expect from Botox and what you want before going in. I thought it was smart that mom had her consultation at home in WV and then had a few weeks to really think about it before doing it, so that she was sure of what she wanted and that she wanted it at all. Be prepared for lots of needles.
