Description of service
My current sitter started when my child was 14 months old. The sitter comes to our home for around 9 hours per day and charges $300 a week. We pay her for holidays we get off of work (major holidays) and one week of paid vacation. She does not do any house keeping except for cleaning up any mess she makes through the day taking care of our child. She has worked for us for about 8 months now.
Review of Service
Having a sitter in the house is tons better than having to get our child up, pack a bag and take her to the daycare. Our sitter is very professional and has a degree in early childhood education. We could definitely get cheaper child care but it's worth the extra money to feel secure that our child is safe. The downside to having the care in our home is that our sitter is not certified. Also there is a downside in that there aren't any other kids for our child to interact with. This is countered somewhat by the sitter taking our child to the park to play with a play group twice a week.
Tips
If you're going to have in care child care and you only have on child make sure that your sitter is taking your child to interact with other children as it's very important to their future socialization.
