the Price of Organic Produce Delivery

We use an organic delivery service, farmers cooperative. They provide a standard order every week according to a set specifications. Our order includes weekly 1lb of cheese, two Loaves of bread, 1 Gallon of whole milk, and monthly 5 lb of whole wheat flour and 2 lbs brown sugar. All of these are produced local, certified Organic and are delivered to our door. There is variation in what kind of bread or Cheese we receive. Our current package costs us $80.00 a month

It is absolutely great. We don't have the time to track down all the farms and drive to them so this allows us to support our local growers and really enjoy their harvests. These are staples we would buy anyways, and when we sat down and figured it out, the price is very comparable to if we were purchasing them in the stores. Our delivery always arrives on the scheduled day and occasionally we are even gifted something extra.

If you really want to find a way to eat local, one of the best thing you can do is track down a small co-operative that will allow you to get the wares of a few individual farmers and producers. Just seek out your local farmers market and they can usually recommend a service.
