Description of service
I made the mistake of letting my motorcycle sit around for years and not taking care of it. When gasoline prices started going up I decided it was time to get it fixed. I had to have just about everything done to get the bike running. The carburetor was gummed up from the old gasoline, needed new brakes, new plugs, new gas tank, new tires, etc. The reason I wanted to get the bike fixed was because it is the first and only bike that I have ever owned. The $1500 I paid was still cheaper than buying a new bike.
Review of Service
The guy I worked with was really great. Because of the age of the bike, he had to do some heavy duty Internet searches to find replacement parts. It took about a month to get the bike up and running but when it was done, I was really happy with the work. The only thing that he did wrong was he installed the brake pads backwards.
Tips
If you want to avoid the problems I had, don't let your bike sit around. If I could do it over again, I would thoroughly drain the motorcycle of all fluids and then put it up on blocks so there was no pressure on the tires and covered it to protect if from the elements. Better yet, just ride your bike and you'll avoid all of the headaches that I had to deal with.
