Description of service
My husband recently bought a motorcycle to drive back and forth to work (cheaper on gas). My young sons, wanting to do something special for their dad, decided to wash it, including inside the tailpipe. Needless to say, it wouldn't crank again.
Since it was virtually brand new, we decided to take the motorcycle in for repair, rather than doing it ourselves, just to be sure no major damage was done. The gentleman we chose, who services bikes at his home, was wonderful. He charges a minimum of $55 to look at a motorcycle.
Review of Service
Luckily, $55 plus the cost of a spark plug was all that was necessary to get the bike running again. The guy was very pleasant and got a good chuckle out of what had happened to cause the problem in the first place. We could've taken it to a dealer to have it repaired, but the guy we chose performed the service while we waited. The dealer couldn't even look at our bike for 2 more days.
Tips
Weight the pros and cons of taking your bike to a dealership for repair. In our case, since the dealer was out of town we chose a privately owned shop that could repair it while we waited rather than dropping the bike off and returning another day to pick it up.
