the Cost of Graphic Design Services

I paid $250.00 for a graphic design student to design my company web page. We already had the domain reserved and paid for. We also had our company logo made so all he had to do was go in and actually design the layout of the page.

This was a decent service. For what we paid, I think we got our money's worth. I don't know much about this type of thing but our quotes from non-students were significantly higher. The layout did look pretty professional. The only problem was that we really basically just trusted the designer to do something great. He just did a color scheme based on our logo. He did put our logo throughout the page and did include the text we'd asked him to include. We had to go in later and add most of our content as we'd only paid for the actual design of the site. He gave us really detailed instructions on how to do so (as we're novices) and did help us out when we called him later to ask some questions.

All of the problems were a result of us not going over with the designer how we wanted the page to look. Honestly, we didn't really have a concept and just thought he'd come up with something. If I was doing this again I'd have the designer share his ideas with us so we could okay them before he just went in and did everything.
