the Cost of Graphic Design Services

I recently paid a graphic designer $75 per hour for some work I had done. I was living in the bay area of California but the designer was located in Atlanta.

Even though the initial thought of paying someone $75 per hour for graphic design work seemed high, in retrospect it was well worth it. The designer was absolutely fantastic to work with and a huge upgrade over the designers I was used to working with in my own company. The designer knew the industry that I was trying to advertise to as well as had an intimate relationship with the ad staff at the magazine I was advertising in and those two factors proved to be invaluable. And with the ease of email and conference calls, being on different sides of the country created very little problems for our working relationship.

When looking for a graphic designer, make sure they have an intimate knowledge of the industry you are advertising in and the people you are trying to reach. I have paid less for graphic designers who did not know my industry and the designs were far less effective. The extra price you may have to pay to have someone who knows how to design for your audience is in my opinion worth the extra money.
