the Cost of Temporary Accounting Employees

I have a small accounting firm and my employees work extra hours during tax season which from January through April. We have taken on a lot more clients in the last year and we just can't handle the workload. For the first time, I called a temp agency.

I called the temp agency and found out that they use accouting students because they frequently have accounting firms that need additional help during tax season. They sent four wonderful young people. They were enthusiastic, hard working, and inquisitive about all aspects of the accounting office. I was surprised to learn that the temp agency was staffed 24/7 so no matter what day or time of day, I could call them with a question or a problem. I wish I had done this a long time ago!

I thought the price was a little high based on what tasks I needed the help for, but it was so easy to just call them, say what I wanted, and they sent someone.

Ask a lot of questions.

Don't be afraid of the price. I paid more using a temp agency than if I had found someone on my own, but I saved time and money up front and I found that I needed to provide very little training.
