Description of service
My company hires temporary employees to do simple jobs like covering for a receptionist or doing some filing. Sometimes we will have big year end projects and just need an extra set of hands to come in and help out. We pay the temp company $18 per hour for employees that have at least 2 years of experience in a corporate setting a meet our minimum requirements for different administrative computer programs.
Review of Service
Our experience has been both positive and negative. We currently have 2 employees who started as temporary employees in positions we were not intending to make premanent. They were both such hard working and intelligent workers that we couldn't see fit to let them go. We have also had temporary employees who have showed up late and were lazy. It is most frustrating to get someone who doesn't catch on quickly as the nature of the positions means we don't have a lot of time to sit down and explain things in detail.
Tips
Find out if the temporary company you're using to hire temporary employees has a guarantee. Make sure you read the contract before you choose to go with a specific temporary company. We don't usually read contracts (who does?) but this one had some interesting fine print.
