Description of service
There is a resort hotel in Detroit Lakes that has a weekly event, providing a cocktail and a manicure for $20. Plus, I gave $2 tip to the bartender for the drink, and $3 for the manicurist.
The manicure was a pretty basic service, trimming cuticles, shaping and painting the nails, along with a short massage of my hands and forearms.
Of course, it's not easy to avoid spilling your martini when you're getting a manicure.
Review of Service
The manicure was simple, but well executed. The technician was very friendly and even though I waited long past my appointment time, there were lots of friendly women, along with my friends, so the waiting was not unpleasant.
And the dirty martini was quite lovely.
Tips
Enjoying a service like this has everything to do with your companions and your atmosphere. There was nothing special about the manicure itself, but the view, the setting, the martini, and the company made the whole experience well worth $20.
