Description of service
The whole concept sounded so simple. I pay about $100 for the phone and get the first month free and all calls are free. Unlimited use. Both incoming and outgoing calls. The only call you must pay extra for is long distance. Which you can pre pay for and use when you need it. All of this for $29.99 a month. Sounds great right?
There are a few details that might help one make a more educated choice.
The service is $49.99 a month. There is no contract. The calls are unlimited.But..........
The calling area is limited to your local area and it may not cover your entire traveling area. If you want caller ID and message service as well as call waiting you must pay additional fees. I chose caller ID and message service. This made the fee now $51 dollars a month.
Review of Service
I am currently usining a plan which is $49.99 per month and includes the following:
- Unlimited local calls (that's right folks, unlimited means I don't have to wait until 9pm... it's unlimited, all the time)
- Caller ID
- Call waiting
- 3-way calling
- 500 anytime U.S. long distance minutes each month
- Add Voice mail for just $3.99 a month
When all is said and done with taxes and whatnot, I end up paying about $51 every month.
Tips
If you live within the coverage area and don't need a roaming feature, then this plan can be quite attractive as an inexpensive on-the-go, run-around-town cell phone solution.
