Review of Service
Teachers are qualified and shows Christian love and respect. They take the time to work hand in hand with parents and administration to make a successful student. The "specials" classes include art, computer, media center, music (choir and band), spanish, and physical education. AC*E and remedial services are available, as with speech therapy. The school counselor is a doctor of psychology, and there is a huge administrative support staff. The Church is very involved in the school, and students are active within the church system, also. Comparing the tuition of the area private schools, this school is very reasonable, and for the activities offered (many after-school sports and clubs), the tuition is a good deal. The school is a rather large school (approximately 800+ students), so a very diverse population is noted. If you are looking for small classes, this school is not for you... most classes have 25 students.
Tips
This school is a private CHRISTIAN school affliated closely with a church. The religion classes are based in the specific church's teachings, so be aware of that. Chapel is every Friday, and ALL students attend. There are dances and many Christian outings. Uniforms may be good or bad... depends on your outlook. The good is that the kids have to wear what everyone else is wearing. Buying 3 shorts and 4 shirts will take you through the year. But uniform wear is just that. Uniform. Everyone looks the same and there is little room for personalization. The school does offer "free dress days" as a reward on meeting certain goals (like reading, box tops, etc.). Meet the Pastors and go to a church worship service to confirm this is where you should be. The church plays a big part in the school and vice versa. You may be seeking for a non-denominational church, and if that's the case, keep looking!
