I recently travelled from Connecticut to a major New York airport. There are many companies in my area competing in the airport transportation market. I called several for pricing and service options. For $120 dollars I could be picked up and dropped off in a motel parking lot. The shuttle would make several other stops at other motels before finally going to the airport. For $170 dollars I could be picked up at my home but the shuttle would still make stops to pick up other people. It could turn a one and half hour ride to the airport into a three hour expedition.

I chose to go with a private limo company for $233.00 round trip which included gratuity. The extra fee was worth it to have a direct non-stop ride to the airport. The car was clean and I felt like a star riding in it. When I was picked up at the airport the driver was waiting for me in the ground transportation area with my name on a sign. It was like being in a movie.

Call several companies to compare prices. If you work for a corporation that uses a limo service find out what company they use. You may be able to take advantage of the corporate discounted rate.
