Description of service
To cover any accidents, or anything at all really, I pay $35 a month for insurance from a nationally known insurance company. The coverage covers everything from theft, to accidental wreckage but exclude mechanical malfunction, which is covered by the warranty on my 17 foot pontoon boat. I usually pay month to month with my other bills, but I would get a discount if I paid a year in advance.
Review of Service
The insurance agent if very well known to be good on covering boats and that is why I went to him. I have a seperate insurance agent for my home and car, but this agent offered me the lowest price so I went with him. Their office is located near the dock that I use so it is convienient for me. The people that work in the office are very nice and have never been rude with me the few times I have had to actually go into the office, which is very rare.
Tips
Call around to different insurance agents and see which one will give you the best deal. Some insurance agents will give you a discount for paying for and taking a boating safety class. You can also check the internet or ask family and friends who they use to find the best deals.
