the Price of Language Schools

We paid the price of $25 per hour per person to try to learn some Portuguese. I was moving to Brazil for a year, and Portuguese is the main language that is spoken there. This price included 1 hour long lesson. We took 3 months of lessons, going twice each week. Therefore, the total cost of our lessons was $600 for two people.

This was actually a very reasonable price to pay for an introduction to the language of Portuguese. The instructor was very good, and would only let us speak Portuguese in class. We were not allowed to speak English at all. This kind of forced us to try to learn the basics of the language. We both came away from the class able to ask simple questions and understand a little bit of another language. We were very happy with this language school, and wouldn't hesitate to return for a refresher course, or for an introduction to a different language.

If you are going to another country, it is a good idea to take an introductory course in the language that they speak. You should do a little bit of research, and find a school where the teacher is able to speak this language fluently.
