Description of service
I paid a shopper to do my Christmas shopping for 40 people. I gave the shopper a list of the people to buy for, a budget and an age range. The shopper then gave me a list of options they were considering and once approved bought all the gifts and sent them off. This particular shopper charged $10 per person shopped for after a minimum fee of $100.
Review of Service
This was overall a good experience. I didn't get the impression that my shopper was very concerned with getting personal gifts that my friends and relatives would really enjoy but was really more concerned with getting age appropriate gifts. I obviously wasn't too concerned about it though as I didn't have time to do it myself. Overall I would say it was a good service and a good value. It sounds like a lot but you think about how many hours you would spend shopping for 40 people it's actually worth it.
Tips
I made the mistake of having the shopper shop for everyone. If I did it again I would reserve a few people that I really care about and do their shopping myself as this shopper was not at all concerned with getting personal or thoughtful gifts.
